What is the reason for fitting an EP Rectifier Guard?

An EP Rectifier Guard protects the motorcycle regulator / rectifier from damage that can be caused by road and of-road debris, while at the same time allowing all-important cooling air to pass through. The unit’s aluminium cooling fins and main body are easily damaged. In most cases the main body of the reg / rec unit can crack and allow moist air or water to enter and reduce the reg / rec’s ability to convert electrical current and maintain a required stable output voltage.
